Sarah, pleased to meet you
Founder of The Avalonia Project, I manage the project and associated collaborations. Here's a little more about me...

After seven years as a senior engineering consultant in the renewable energy industry in Scotland, my path took a turn when I visited the Schumacher College in Devon for a short-course that changed my life. I later became a volunteer in that pioneering university until the pandemic hit. Sensing the time to head back home after 12 years abroad, I returned to the French-Swiss border near Geneva and studied with GEN about eco-communities. That's when the project was born in my head. I went on several other courses to find out more about how to bring it to life, with notably fantastic help from the French project incubator InnoVales who supported the project through the year 2022. On the path of druidism, I am now a Bard and about to embark on the Ovate journey with the OBOD. I started hosting Celtic celebrations of the Wheel of the Year in October 2021 and have since gathered with the help of partners hundreds of people around fires for numinous moments of Wilderness...

A self-proclaimed sacred ecologist (aka consultant, philosopher, thinker, dreamer, lover, theologist, facilitator etc. in Sacred Ecology), my aim through this project - and in life in general - is to help us all develop a more loving outlook and sense of care for Nature, which we are a part of, and let ourselves be inspired by this bond, using sacred ecology techniques, methodologies and traditions with ritual, art, music, poetry, community sharings and much more.

You can find out more about my motivations behind the project in this article.

Looking forward to meeting you around a fire at one of our gatherings...
Sarah
